National Executive Committee
The National Executive Committee (NEC) is the authority of SALGA between National Conferences and National Members Assemblies. It is made up of the president, three deputy presidents, six additional members elected by the National Conference, and provincial chairpersons who serve as exofficio members.
The NEC meets every two months, rotating sessions across all nine provinces. This approach ensures direct engagement with member municipalities in each region.
Beyond oversight, the NEC sets and reviews SALGA’s strategic priorities, guides its activities, and adopts the organisation’s administrative policies, keeping the association aligned, accountable, and responsive to local government needs.
