The SALGA Women’s Commission National Summit will be convened under the theme “Working together to promote gender equality, sustainable development and good governance”.
The Summit will held as follows:

The Summit aims to bring together all the provincial chapters of the SALGA Women’s Commission and other female political leaders in local government to offer a structured opportunity to address transformation challenges faced by women in Local Government with a view to developing solutions.
Other delegates to the event include stakeholders from Government Departments, Civil Society Organisations and the Private Sector. The key focus areas for the Summit will be:
. To discuss the SWC Terms of Reference and proposed amendments;
. Identification and prioritisation of key issues to inform the SWC Programme of Action;
. Election of the SWC National Commissioner.
The SALGA NEC is looking forward with much anticipation to welcoming all to this critical reflection as we strive to collectively move local government forward.
